For eighteen months ago we had the pleasure of inviting you to open talks with internationally renowned fashion photographer Tim Walker, who gave us a unique insight into his creative work process through scrapbooks and notebooks. Then we follow up with a new fashion photographer, it was only natural to choose one of Tim's own favorites:
'Toyin Ibidapo's work stands out Because it is Instantly recognisable,' he says, pointing in particular two here Cult of Boys project. 'They're fashion photographs wooden hold so much more than just the fashion. "- Tim Walker's reply when he was asked who he sees as" The Next Big Thing, "from Interview with British Journal Of Photography, 18/02/2009
This year we invite you to open talks with Toyin Ibidapo, where we get a glimpse of an alternate work process and industry approach. When Toyin followed her own passion for years after graduation, earnings tease it in the project "Cult of Boys", where 100 young boys are photographed on a personal and honest way. This project opened the doors to the commercial world, where Toyin now been recognized as a fashion photographer.
The "Cult of Boys" soon led to Toyin was discovered as a fashion photographer explained well in Tim Walker's further statement in the interview with the British Journal of Photography, "Toyin's photographs could be bracketed into the fashion picture category, but the layers run so much deeper. Below images are just as much tender, personal portraits of the boys she captures as they are portraits of herself as an artist, Responding to what she is seeing. They're two relevant fashion's eternal pre-occupation with youth and cool, and they also perfectly carry the torch of the damned beauty of youth, Which was previously held by Corinne Day and Will McBride.
